Conclave on Electoral Reforms

The idea of undertaking simultaneous elections is being seriously considered as a potential solution to the problem of evident frequent electoral cycles in India, which end-up negatively impacting several developmental and administrative activities.

Several prominent political leaders and organisations have consistently voiced their opinions for the above idea at various forums.

A forum called Conclave on Electoral Reforms has been conceptualized to engage citizens, eminent public servants from the Election Commission of India and the civil society to converge on a common platform to holistically analyse the needs and counter arguments on the feasibility of holding Simultaneous Elections in India.

V. S . Sampath

Veeravalli Sundaram Sampath was the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of the Election Commission of India from 2012 to 2015 . To his credit, as Chief Election commissioner, he has smoothly conducted the largest electoral exercise in the history of world democracies - Indian general election, 2014-the 14th general elections in India.

M. G. Devasahayam

Mr. M.G.Devasahayam is an Economist cum Administrator with a direct and first-hand experience in the working and ethos of Indian Army, Civil Services, Government, Public and Private Sector, Political system as well as NGOs, including The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), which is a non-partisan, non-governmental organization which works in the area of electoral and political reforms.

Dr. G. Viswanathan

Dr. G. Viswanathan is the Founder and Chancellor of VIT University. He served as a Member of Parliament and as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. He is the President of the Education Promotion Society for India.

Kunal is a Legislative Policy Analyst and a works with the members of the Indian Parliament as a LAMP Fellow. He is the National Executive Director of Uddeshya India and the Founder and Managing Director of Envision India Skill Foundation.

Paridhi Pandey

Paridhi Pandey is currently serving as the Head of the Civic Rights and Duties division of Uddeshya and has authored the Argumentative Analysis Note on Feasibility of Holding Simultaneous Elections in India.

Aquib Ajani

Aquib Ajani is currently serving as the Lead for the Office of IT in Uddeshya India. He is also serving as the Co-Chairperson of the VIT Vellore Chapter of Uddeshya.

Jaison P. George

Jaison George is currently serving as the Joint Secretary of the National Executive Board of Uddeshya India. He is also serving as the Co-Chairperson of the VIT Vellore Chapter of Uddeshya.

Divyansh Parashar
